Transparent pricing for Profit Management was refreshing.

Last month, I inquired about Profit Management and found their direct sales model straightforward; they quoted fair payment processing rates without hidden fees, a pleasant surprise. 👍

So easy to use!

I got the Online Ordering system and a Digital Menu Board last month and it's been fantastic! My customers love the new online ordering feature. Setting it up was super easy, I didn't need any special tech skills. It all just worked. I'm telling all my restaurant owner friends about this, they need to try it! I will definitely be using TouchBistro again for other services as my business grows!

Mostly good, some small issues

We recently integrated the TouchBistro POS and their Payment Processing. The initial setup was mostly smooth after a brief learning curve with the software. The payment processing rates were competitive, and it's convenient to have everything integrated. Delivery of the mobile payment terminals took 6 days to reach us. My only real gripe was with integrating our existing gift cards; it wasn't as seamless as I hoped and required a few calls to support. They eventually sorted it out, but it took more effort than anticipated. Overall, it's a solid system and a definite improvement over our old one, but they could make the gift card migration process a bit clearer.

Good system, helpful support

I set up the TouchBistro Point of Sale and the Kitchen Display System for my cafe a few months back. The ordering process was pretty straightforward; I booked a demo first and the sales rep answered all my questions clearly. Delivery for the hardware took about a week, which was reasonable. The iPad POS itself was fairly intuitive to get running, though the Kitchen Display System needed a bit more time to configure all the menu items properly. I had to call support once for an issue with the menu modifiers not showing correctly on the KDS, and the agent was patient and walked me through it. Quality of the hardware seems solid, and the software is stable. It's really helped streamline our kitchen operations during busy hours.

Is TouchBistro really better than Toast? I keep seeing ads for both and it's hard to tell the difference. Mainly for a small diner.

G Greg 2 months ago
For a small diner, honestly, either could work. TouchBistro is super iPad-focused, which I like, but Toast has a strong online ordering thing too. Depends on what features you'll use most.

I switched from Toast to TB for my pub. Found the interface a bit more intuitive for staff, especially the table management. Integrations felt smoother too, but that might just be my specific setup.

Does TouchBistro ever do big sales? Like for Black Friday or anything like that? Trying to budget for a new restaurant system.

R Renee 2 months ago
They do sometimes have deals around Black Friday or the end of the year. Often it's more like a discount on hardware bundles or getting certain modules cheaper, rather than a percentage off the monthly fee.

Yeah, I remember seeing something last Small Business Saturday. Not really 'promo codes' though, more like stuff you'd get if you signed up directly or asked during the quote process.

Hey, so I heard they do some kind of free trial? Is that for the full system or just a demo version with limited stuff?

R Renee Reyes 2 months ago
Pretty sure it's a full 30-day trial for the software. You usually gotta talk to a sales rep to get it going tho.

K Kevin 2 months ago
Yeah, it's not like a downloadable thing you just click. You typically book a demo first and then they'll set you up with a trial if it's a good fit. It's the real deal software though, not some watered-down version.

Thinking about getting TouchBistro for my new coffee shop. Anyone know if you can use your own iPads or do you have to buy their whole setup?

D Derek 2 months ago
Yeah, you can totally use your own iPads. I think they just need to be a newer model. Check their site, it'll tell you which ones.

They actually encourage using your own! Saves some cash. I just had to make sure mine were updated enough, otherwise, no issues setting it up.

quick question: can you use TouchBistro offline if the internet drops? My cafe's wifi can be a bit spotty sometimes.

P Priya Nguyen 2 months ago
Yep! That's one of their big selling points actually. Your POS keeps working even if the internet goes down, and then syncs up when it comes back. Pretty crucial for a busy place.

Confirmed, it works offline. Super helpful for when the ISP decides to take a nap. Transactions just queue up and send when you're back online.
